Support Girl Child Health & Development Initiatives:

Dear Colleagues and Friends, We really value your support for human being, particularly supporting our women and adolescent girls Health and development initiatives. We have been able to cater to the needs of adolescent girls and women of the weaker section of the society in the last 22 years with your kind support to help them to lead their lives with dignity. In addition to our current initiatives,we wish to support girl child of poor and disadvantaged communities by preparing them for main stream education and providing them better health care and nutrition support.

Our organization, Mamta Samajik Sanstha is non profit, secular, voluntary organization working in Uttarakhand and western UP since last 22 years. We work for all round development of children, women, adolescent girls and disadvantaged people of weaker section of the society.

We have completed various health and development projects in the past 22 years to bring about change in the lives of disadvantaged communities. One of our current projectsis for out of school girls that we are running in 60 villages of two blocks Vikasnagar and Sahaspur, district Dehradun, Uttarakhand,India. These are the girls age between 6-16 years of minorities, SC, ST communities and belong to families of below poverty line. These are the girls either never been to school or dropped before class 5th due to various socio-economic reasons. We run learning centres for these girls to prepare and motivate them for mainstream education.

We have 30-35 girls in each learning centre. We are getting support for teacher’s salary and education material from one of the organization called IIMPACT. But we don't have support for class room and other basic amenities. So far we are running these centres either one room given by the village Panchayat or some village people has given one room or their verandah to run these centres. We face lots of problem during rainy season and hot summer to accommodate these girls in a safe place.

We have committed staff, teachers to teach these girls. But some time we fail to retain girls at our learning centre because we don't have proper place, shelter or safe and secured class room to give them a good environment for quality education. Beside this we wish to provide them better health care and nutritional support for their all round development.

Hence, we request prestigious organization and partners like you to provide support for constructing at least one or two class room with one toilet and water facility. Also provide support for our girl child health and nutrition project. You may write to us for more details about our initiatives. Also you may suggest us as how we may make this programme more useful for the health and development of our girl child?

Reaching to the disadvantaged people of the Society

We visualize a healthy society where children, women and disadvantaged people such as poorest among the poor, handicapped, people in remotest inaccessible villages, especially in upper hills, get equal opportunity to grow and exercise their rights in terms of having better access on all essential services, particularly health care and sustainable development.
